Zara has reopened its East Nanjing Road store, one of China’s main commercial's streets, showcasing the brand’s latest store concept. The Huangpu district is Shanghai’s central hub—historically significant and known for balancing business and innovation with architecture, tourism, and cultural heritage.

After a comprehensive transformation, the Zara East Nanjing Road Flagship Store proudly returns with a refreshed vision that now expands to 2,400 square meters of commercial floor space across four floors. It features an extensive range of fashion collections for women and men, as well as dedicated spaces for special collections such as the collaboration with designer Aaron Levine, Zara Athleticz, The Item collection, and Shoes & Bags, among others.
经过全面升级改造,Zara南京东路旗舰店荣耀回归,以全新面貌亮相。焕新后的店铺共有四层楼面,营业面积扩展至2400平方米,涵盖了女装、男装全系列服饰,并设有Aaron Levine x Zara联名系列、Zara Athleticz、The Item系列、鞋履包袋等特别系列专区。

The opening reinforces Zara’s commitment to the Chinese market and to retail innovation, marking an important milestone for the brand in the region. Conceived by Zara’s Architecture Studio in collaboration with AIM Architecture, the space has been designed to offer a welcoming and elevated experience. The interior architecture features a sequence of interconnected rooms, reflecting Zara’s newest concept for global flagship stores and presenting a refreshed image with new product display areas. The store is also equipped with the most advanced technology to ensure a seamless customer experience. At the same time, boutique-style spaces featuring unique designs and furniture highlight the brand’s collections and offer a distinctive connection between the customer and the product.
新店由Zara建筑工作室携手AIM恺慕建筑设计事务所联合构思设计,旨在营造温馨优雅的购物体验。室内设计采用一系列相互联通的空间布局,体现了Zara全球旗舰店的最新理念,并通过全新的产品陈列区域呈现焕然一新的品牌形象。门店还配备最先进的技术设备,以确保顾客获得顺畅的购物体验。同时,采用了独特设计与家具的精品店风格空间,不仅凸显品牌的系列产品,更在顾客与产品之间建立起独特的情感连接。
The interior concept of Zara East Nanjing Road is designed to create a welcoming, intimate atmosphere, guiding customers through individually curated areas. Each section—Man and Woman—features its own dedicated entrance, creating a cohesive yet distinct store-in-store experience.
店铺的室内设计以营造温馨亲和的氛围为理念,通过精心规划的动线引导顾客进入各具特色的主题区域。男装和女装分区均设有独立入口,在保持整体协调的同时,打造独具特色的“店中店”购物体验。
Sensorial details are found throughout the interior journey, from the industrial character of the walls combined with touches of wood, natural fabrics and textures, the presence of cork as a natural element, and a palette of neutral and earthy tones, to layered lighting effects. This contrasts with the areas dedicated to the younger woman’s line, where steel elements, sinuous shapes, and distinctive furniture define the style of the collections. The Man collection is presented in a sophisticated setting that plays with a darker palette, complemented by stainless-steel details and wood-effect finishes. The fitting room area draws inspiration from early-20th-century design, reflecting the geometric lines and bold, heritage aesthetic characteristic of historic buildings found in the Huangpu district. A curated composition of photographs displayed along the walls completes the visual narrative and complements the collections.
步入店内空间,感官细节处处可见:工业质感的墙面,融入木材、天然织物与多样的肌理元素、软木元素作为自然材质点缀其间,同时中性及大地色系构成主色调,配合层次丰富的灯光效果。与此形成对比的是年轻女装系列专属区域——不锈钢元素、流线型轮廓与特色家具共同勾勒出该系列的独特风格。男装系列则呈现出更为精致的场景,深色基调辅以不锈钢细节与木纹饰面,营造沉稳氛围。试衣间区域从二十世纪初的设计中汲取灵感,呼应黄浦区历史建筑特有的几何线条与大胆传承的美学风格。墙面精选的系列摄影作品进一步完整了空间视觉叙事,与服装系列相得益彰。

While each section plays with different textures, tones, and finishes to reinforce its character, lighting plays a key role in the store’s atmosphere, with a scenic setting that emphasizes the collections and creates an inviting space to explore.

Customers can interact with the brand in-store or via zara.com and the Zara app, enabling real-time inventory browsing and online order pickup. Additionally, a limited-edition warm winter beverage will be offered complimentary to shoppers, extending thoughtful care to warm the entire shopping journey.

In line with Zara’s commitment to sustainability, Zara East Nanjing Road has some of the most advanced energy efficiency systems, including efficient heating and cooling systems, and an innovative design that reduces overall lighting intensity from LED fixtures to cut energy use further while maintaining a premium in-store environment. In addition, the store is connected to our internal Inergy platform, which centrally monitors the consumption of the air conditioning and electricity at the store to optimize management, improve maintenance and define strategies to reduce energy needs.
